The moving story of a Ghanaian immigrant on 'First Dates': "My father was imprisoned and I was left alone in Europe."

The moving story of a Ghanaian immigrant on 'First Dates': "My father was imprisoned and I was left alone in Europe."

Once again, "First Dates" offered interesting stories about singles on Telecinco. Of all the contestants on this Wednesday, August 6th, one stood out, touching both his suitor (who ended up in tears of emotion) and the audience.

This is Clifford, a 21-year-old Ghanaian immigrant passionate about music and living in Manresa, Barcelona. Outgoing and incredibly positive, he recounted a tremendously difficult chapter in his short life.

This is how he began his story: "I'm from Ghana, from Africa. But I came here with my biological father and his then-wife. We had some problems and technical glitches. My dad went to jail, to put it bluntly, and the other woman emptied our bank account and kidnapped my stepsister, and I don't even know where she is anymore."

Clifford continued to offer details of that event: "That happened on a Sunday, and on Monday I had to go to class. I've always been very active. When the music teacher, who was my tutor, saw that I wasn't talking or saying anything that day, she asked me what was wrong. I told her confidentially what had happened at home and that I was left alone in Europe."

Fortunately, the story had a happy ending: "After two days, the school principal came and asked me if I'd rather go with a family to a juvenile center. I wasn't going to go to a juvenile center, not a chance. I waited, and after half an hour, the music teacher showed up with her husband and took me to their house. They are my parents, and that's why I am the way I am. I don't judge anyone because the world is very difficult. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

Mariana, a 20-year-old singer and entrepreneur from La Coruña, was moved by this story. And she couldn't hold back her tears. "I'm about to cry. It's awful. I didn't want to cry, but it's so sad," she confessed.

Aside from this chapter, the connection between Clifford and Mariana was total since they shared many hobbies (especially music) and, finally, they decided to continue getting to know each other and see if love sparks between them.
